L03: Visualization and matching

Things we cover in this session

After cropping the aerial image data as part of the last session, we will have - in the very literally scene - a closer look on the data set, think of visualization strategies, discuss general features of the study area and continue to process the images in order to finally get a consistent and quality controlled data set.

Things you need for this session

Things to take home from this session

At the end of this session you should be able to

  • explain the difference between data values and grey values
  • assess different contrast manipulation strategies
  • merge information from different raster data sets in order to remove unwanted features
  • check the across image data value adjustment
